FARMINGTON — Regional School Unit 9 will hold two parent training nights this week to help keep children safe on the internet.

The first session will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Mt. Blue Middle School. The second will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, in the Forum on the Mt. Blue Campus.

Attendance at one of the meetings is mandatory for all parents of seventh-graders because it is the first year seventh-graders will be able to take school laptops home. All middle and high school students’ parents are welcome to attend either session.

The first 10 families each night will receive a free copy of the book, “lol…OMG!: What Every Student Needs to Know About Online Reputation Management, Digital Citizenship and Cyberbullying.” A preview of the book can be seen at www.lolomgbook.com.
