1927 – 2016

BRUNSWICK — Andre Menard passed away peacefully surrounded by family Thursday, Sept. 29.

Andre was born in Brunswick on April 3, 1927. He attended Brunswick schools. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Andre married the love of his life, Marguerite Pelletier.

Andre spent several years working in the Verney Mill as a loom fixer. From there he worked at the Pejepscot Mill as a refiner operator for 32 years, until retirement. He was a member of the All Saints Parish.

Andre loved to play tennis, ride his bike and play with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Andre was even water-skiing until the age of 80. He had a great sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes.

Andre is survived by his wife of almost 66 years; his children, Gerry and his wife, Cathy Menard, Roland and his wife, Jeri Menard from Westerly, R.I., Marc and Susan Menard from Durham, and Teri and Mark Green from Hancock. Marguerite and Andre have nine grandchildren, Brian Menard, Julie Oakley, Doug Menard, Matthew Menard, Emily Menard, Dale and Shawn Menard, Nate Green and Abby Baker and their spouses. They also have nine great-grandchildren, Zach and Alyssa Menard, Aiden and Haley Oakley, Colin and Annie Menard, and Claire and Lucy Menard and Miles Menard.

The family would like to thank the staff of Chans as well as The Garden at Thornton Hall for the excellent and compassionate care that they provided during his final day.
