WEST PARIS — SAD 17 directors were told at their meeting Monday night that building and facilities projects in the eight towns are nearing completion and are underbudget.

“We’ve done pretty well,” Business Manager Cathy Coffey said.

Voters approved a $1.25 million bond in June. So far, bids total $1.17 million. All but the bid for the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School track work have been received.

Facilities Director Nelson Baillargeon told directors meeting at the Agnes Gray Elementary School that the Waterford Elementary School roof job is expected to begin next week, and the new bleachers at the football field will be installed this month.

New roofs at Oxford Elementary School in Oxford and Guy E. Rowe Elementary School in Norway are finished. Both are expected to last for at least 40 years, according to an inspector, and have 20-year warranties.

Work on the Harrison Elementary School roof is expected to be completed in a day or two, Baillargeon said.
