AUBURN — Maxwell Poulin and Mehgan Francis, second-year students in the architectural and civil engineering program at Central Maine Community College, have been awarded $1,500 scholarships from the Maine Real Estate & Development Association.

Poulin, of Sidney, is a graduate of Messalonskee High School in Oakland. He has earned president’s honors and high honors while at CMCC and plans to complete his associate degree next May.

Francis, of New Gloucester, is a graduate of Gray-New Gloucester High School. She has been an honors student and also plans to graduate in May.

The funds for the scholarships were raised through MEREDA’s annual “Strikes for Scholars” bowl-a-thon in May.

To qualify for a MEREDA scholarship, students must be a Maine resident, have financial need, and be enrolled as a second-year student in a building trades, architecture, construction, engineering or business program at a Maine community college.
