1922 – 2016

READFIELD — Edward Francis Breen, 94, of Readfield, died Monday, Oct. 3, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

He was born to William and Mary (Ronan) Breen, Jan. 27, 1922, in Jersey City, N.J. He was a proud combat veteran of the U.S. Army, serving under General Patton’s 3rd Army during the infamous Battle of the Bulge, the last major German offensive campaign of World War II.

Ed had a successful career on Wall Street where he ran floor operations on the NYSE and AMEX for various firms, while occupying and navigating Exchange Membership seat “146” through good markets and bad.

Mr. Breen was a loving husband to Adelaide (Writer) Breen for 62 years; fantastic father to Amy Elizabeth and Peter Edward; and doting grandfather to Jake, Daniel, Samantha and Max. He will be loved and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
