RUMFORD — Maine Event Comedy will present comedian Louis Ramey at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at 49 Franklin’s Mystic Theatre.
Also performing will be Michele Mortensen and Greg Boggis. Mark Turcotte will be the host.
Ramey, an Atlanta native, first attempted stand-up while in college and has since performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” recorded a half-hour Comedy Central special and was a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”
He’s toured England, Dubai, India, Australia, Hong Kong and entertained the troops for a USO Comedy Central special at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Additional television credits include ABC’s “The View,” NBC’s “Showtime at the Apollo,” CBS’ “48 Hours” and Nickelodeon’s “Nick at Nite.”
Mortensen is from New Hampshire and was recently featured in the Huffington Post. She’s played clubs throughout New England along with Carolina Comedy Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Side Splitters in Tampa, Florida, and Coconuts in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Boggis, of Milford, New Hampshire, hosts his own television show, “The Boggis Hour.” He’s taken his casual blend of current events and unique observations to comedy clubs, colleges, benefits and corporate shows across the country.
Turcotte was a recent selection to the Boston, Cleveland and North Carolina comedy festivals.
