FARMINGTON — Staff from the Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County will offer breast cancer prevention events throughout October.

Women 40 and older who haven’t had a mammogram within the last year can receive financial assistance for breast health services, assistance in scheduling a mammogram or breast exam, assistance in finding a doctor, and a $25 gas card for transportation needs.

Event dates and details are as follows:

Farmington Wal-Mart: 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 and 18. Clinical breast exams will be offered on these dates.

Farmington Post Office: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 24 and 31. Clinical breast exams will be offered on these dates. Those who receive assistance in scheduling a mammogram or clinical breast exam will receive a $5 Tranten’s gift card. On Oct. 31, there will be a Halloween Extravaganza from noon to 1 p.m. There will be treats, music and entertainment. Attendees are encouraged to dress in pink or whatever they wish.
