WALDOBORO — Winthrop/Monmouth built on its biggest win of the season with its biggest win of the season, as far as scoring is concerned.

One week after getting the monkey off their back against Oak Hill, the Ramblers got the Panthers of Medomak Valley out of the way with a 49-3 win in a Class D South football game Saturday.

Whenever the Ramblers (6-0) had the ball, they scored. That started with a 1-yard run by Andrew Pazdziorko in the first quarter. Dylan Boynton completed the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run in the fourth.

The Panthers (1-4) cut the deficit to 7-3 on a Kyle Donlin 31-yard field goal early in the second quarter. But Winthrop/Monmouth put the game away with three straight scores to finish off the first half.

Matt Ingram hit Bennett Brooks for touchdown passes of 30 and 41 yards. Those were sandwiched around a 2-yard run by Alec Brown, and the Ramblers headed into halftime up 28-3.

Ingram ran in from 1-yard out in the third, then finished off his scoring with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Pazdziorko.

The senior quarterback completed six of his seven passes for 103 yards. Brooks caught three of those passes for 79 yards, and also returned four punts for 125 yards. The Ramblers rushed for 243 yards, with Brown accounting for 78 of them. Kane Gould added 65.

The Ramblers finish off their regular season when they host Maranacook on Friday.
