1923 – 2016

AUBURN — Luc U. Pomerleau, 93, of Dawn Avenue, Lewiston, died Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Androscoggin Hospice House, with his family by his side.

Born in Lewiston on March 10, 1923, a son of the late Arthur and Berthe Poulin Pomerleau, Luc was educated in Lewiston schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Pomerleau was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at Holy Cross Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Lewiston Council 106. He worked as a weaver at the Continental Mill and Quinco Fabric. He enjoyed spending time with his family and at his camp, traveling, talking about his time in World War II and going to church.

Luc will be remembered for his willingness to help others, for his sense of humor, his love of sweets, all of his stories and his dedication to his family.

He is survived by his wife, the former Pauline S. Rivard of Lewiston, whom he married Sept. 5, 1953; his daughter, Irene C. Teixeira of Lewiston; his son, Michael L. Pomerleau of Auburn; former daughter-in-law, Stacy McGaw; grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Teixeira, Dylan Pomerleau and Sarah Wing; great-grandchildren, Kyen, Lucas, Violette and Grayson; brother, Conrad Pomerleau and wife, Ruby, of Florida; sister and brothers-in-law, Jane Landry, Lorraine Drouin and husband, Richard, Norm Rivard and wife, Yvette, Robert Rivard and wife, Marguerite; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Laurier; and sister, Anita.
