NORTH VIENNA — Public memorial services for Raymond E. Anderson of Vienna were held Thursday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m. from the North Vienna United Methodist Church with the Rev. Laura Church officiating.

The welcoming song was “When We Meet Again” by George Hamilton IV. Congregational hymns included “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” by Thomas Dorsey. Words of remembrance began with his daughter, Julie; his foster daughter, Amanda Carter; his granddaughter, Michelle Morris; and son, Paul Anderson, as well as two lifelong friends, Orland MacPherson and Paul Rogers. The congregation listened to the Vince Gill rendition of “This Is Us.” The service concluded with “Hymn of Promise” by Natalie Sleeth. Following services, his son, Paul, led the procession to the North Vienna Municipal Cemetery, where full military honors were provided by the U.S. Navy. Following committal prayers, all were welcomed by the Church Hospitality Committee to the church vestry for a comfort reception.

Cremation care and memorial services were in the care and under the direction of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
