LEWISTON — Former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell is holding a meet-and-greet Tuesday to support Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
Mitchell served as one of Maine’s senators from 1980 until 1995, including a six-year stint as the majority leader. He later played a key role in reaching a peace agreement that ended the fighting in Northern Ireland.
The 2:30 p.m. meet-and-greet, which is open to the public, will be held at The Dolard & Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St. in Lewiston. Doors will open at 2 p.m.
State Rep. Peggy Rotundo of Lewiston will host the event.
