1922 – 2016
FARMINGTON — Florence R. Nadeau, 94, a former resident of Livermore Falls and Jay, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Sandy River Center in Farmington, where she had resided for the past 13 years.
She was born Aug. 13, 1922, in St. Evariste, P.Q., Canada, the daughter of Archélas Caouette and Alphonsine (Marceau) Caouette. Florence was a 1942 graduate of Livermore Falls High School and was valedictorian of her class. On Nov. 6, 1943, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her husband of 43 years, Rosaire Nadeau, he passed away in 1986.
Florence was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Jay-Livermore Falls Senior Citizens. Although she was known for her great cooking, Florence also enjoyed going out to eat, doing activities at Sandy River, but above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Gerard Nadeau and his wife, Tanya, of Jay, Martin Nadeau and his wife, Kathy, of Hebron, Rachel Adams of Peru and Elaine Brackett and life partner, Richard Taylor, of Jay; nine grandchildren, Tarek and Tarad Nadeau, Christopher and Beth Nadeau, Lisa Glidden, Stephen Hunt, Barbara Mears, Karen and Mark Brackett; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; her sister, Beatrice Porell; and brothers, Alphonse and Armand Caouette.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Beacon Hospice for the outstanding care and to Sandy River Center for the past 13 years of dedicated care and compassion shown to Florence and her family.
