GREENE — Members of the Lewiston High School Class of 1961 met on Oct. 1 for a 55th reunion at the home of classmate John Schott and his wife Pat.

It was a free, no-frills event. All that was needed was a chair, something to drink, and a willingness to be ready to indulge in camaraderie with past classmates.

Pizza, Italian sandwiches and miniature pastries were provided with the balance of funds from the class’ 50th reunion.

John Tewhey welcomed classmates and celebrated the city of Lewiston and Lewiston High School as a good place, then and now.

Bill Libby organized a successful fundraiser by raffling off prints of Lewiston’s iconic locations of the 1960s that still exist today, Luigi’s and the Blue Goose.

Marc Jalbert, class archivist, proceeded with a moment of silence in acknowledgement of the 68 deceased members of the class by reading their names.
