First Auburn Seniors to meet
AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, Oct. 19, for a Halloween finger roll luncheon and Halloween Costume Parade. Prizes will be awarded for costumes.
There were 47 members present at the last meeting. Attendance winne3rs were Sally Gagnon and Diane Vincent; Pot of Gold, Suzanne Blanchard, Paula Mikkelsen and Carol Layton; and 50/50, Robert Berry, Connie Berry and Lucy Cowles.
L.A. Greendrinks to meet
AUBURN — L.A. Greendrinks will meet from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Wallingford’s Fruit House. The featured cause is the Good Food Council of Lewiston-Auburn.
Participants will be kept warm under twinkle lights with hot cider and heat lamps, and of course that inner fire for sustainable causes.
The cost is $5 for a hard cider pint, $6 for hard cider pint in a glass and $6 for hard cider tasting flight; identification will be required for these. Hot Cider (non-alcoholic) will be available by donation.
All are welcome, including families.

Immigration officer drop-in hours
LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Library will host Immigration Services Officers from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21. The officers will be holding a free open office session for individuals from the community with any questions about the U.S. immigration process.
The officers will be available in a second floor study room for one-on-one meetings. Drop-ins are welcome; no appointments are necessary.
Services provided include customer inquiries, case status for pending applications, and general information about naturalization, citizenship, permanent residence, and asylum/refugee information.

Cemetery association to meet
AUBURN — The North Auburn Cemetery Association will meet Monday, Oct. 24 at the home of Donald and Terry Lebel, 625 North Auburn Road.
All members are welcome.
Lewiston resident assisting hurricane victims
LEWISTON — Phyllis Rand of Lewiston has flown to North Carolina to assist those affected by Hurricane Matthew.
Rand, a nine-year volunteer with the American Red Cross, will serve as a government liaison supervisor. She’ll represent the Red Cross to state, county, federal and tribal agencies as they coordinate the disaster relief response.
She’s previously responded to disasters in Maine, and traveled to Alabama and New Jersey as part of disaster response teams.

Vendors wanted for craft fair
POLAND — The Excelsior Grange is seeking vendors for its Christmas Craft Fair to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.
The Grange will provide door prizes and serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Table rental is $20. each.

Cribbage league lists winners
LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners on Oct. 13 were, first place; Betty Ames and Pauline Quimby; second place, Dick Dennis; third place, Dick Champagne and Fran St. Pierre; fourth, Dick Cloutier and Roger Labbe; and, fifth, George Bussiere and Ed Madden.
The Seniors play on Thursdays at the Lewiston Armory.
