SOUTH PORTLAND — Girl Scouts of Maine has announced that Betsey Timm of Falmouth was elected as president of the board of directors.

Timm is retired from her position as president of Bank of America Maine. She has served on many boards, including the Maine Children’s Alliance and the United Way Foundation. She has volunteered extensively throughout the community for projects such as YMCA’s Women of Achievement program, the AIDS Project, and the American Heart Association Go Red for Women. She was also honored as Girl Scouts of Maine’s 2010 Woman of Distinction.

Also elected to the board were Caroline McAleese Riley of Falmouth as first vice president, and Janet O’Toole, CPA, of Cape Elizabeth, as treasurer.

At-large members welcomed included:

* Janet Boone of Windham;

* Kay Henry of Harpswell;

* Kathryn Burke Pratt of Falmouth; and

* Donna Watson of Pownal.

Continuing board members include Ellen Beaulieu and Kathleen Bouchard of Falmouth; Pat Locke, Esq., Lincoln; Sarah Medina, Dixmont; Nancy Morse Dysart, Carmel; Kim-Anne Perkins, Presque Isle; Sarah Walton, Mechanic Falls; Isabelle Ward, Old Town; and Danny Williams.
