LIVERMORE — Selectpersons learned Tuesday night they’ll need to find another contractor to mow cemeteries next year.
Dave Lovewell, who has a three-year contract with the town, said he would finish this year but doesn’t feel he can continue doing the job the way it should be done, Administrative Assistant Amy Byron said.
“The contract has one more year,” Byron said.
The contract is for $17,500 annually, paid in seven $2,500 installments from May through November. There are 25 cemeteries in Livermore.
“I appreciate his telling us now and not waiting until spring,” Chairman Mark Chretien said.
Selectperson Tom Gould said the board should honor Lovewell’s request, and the other board members agreed.
