It is a rare person who possesses the three qualities of intelligence, common sense and a strong moral compass. It is this individual who is once again caught between Scylla and Charybdis, having to choose between the lesser of two evils in an election. What poison this time, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton?
They are crass human beings, foul-mouthed beyond belief — a characteristic that is well-documented in books written by those who worked with them and, of course, audio-visual records.
However, having either one as the next president is what this nation deserves. Why? Because there are too many citizens who are just as immoral. Too many who think it’s OK to kill unborn children. Too many who think forms of sexual perversion, including adultery, homosexuality, transgenderism and others are acceptable. Too many who believe the lies flowing from television. Too many bad parents. Too many dishonest, greedy business people and politicians. Too many lazy folks living on the dole. Too many criminals with no respect for life and property.
I could continue.
In a letter to Timothy, the apostle Paul writes, “…in the last days perilous times will come: men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of those that are good, traitors, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than God; having a form of godliness but denying its power.”
Sound familiar?
