Trunk or Treat at Auburn UMC

AUBURN — The Auburn United Methodist Church will hold its first Trunk or Treat event  from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, in the church parking lot, 439 Park Ave.

Participants may decorate their car trunks with a Halloween or Fall themes, and Trick or Treaters will go from car to car.

North Turner Cemetery Assoc. meeting

TURNER — The annual meeting of the North Turner Cemetery Association will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at the home of Eva Leavitt, 7 Beach St.

All lot owners and members of the Association are encouraged to attend. The agenda will cover secretary, treasurer and caretaker reports, draft amendments to the by-laws, lawn care and review of new business.

Food pantry seeks donations 

AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry has ongoing needs for the following items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned past, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper.

Auburn United Methodist Church collects items for the pantry. Donations may be brought to 439 Park Ave.

Homeschooling Meet-Up at APL

AUBURN — Area homeschoolers are invited to meet other homeschooling parents and their children from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays in the Maggie Trafton Program Room at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St. 

This informal group will be led by Christina Helms, a local homeschooling parent. This will be an opportunity for children to interact with other children and for parents to find support from each other.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Players must become a member to participate.
