LIVERMORE — The ninth annual Colin J Richard Golf Tournament for Franklin County Special Olympics was held Sept. 24 at Maple Lane Golf Course. It was a perfect fall day for the 70 golfers to enjoy a day of scramble style golf. A pig roasted by Gene Weed, grandfather of Colin Richard, was ready for the golfers upon their completion of the scramble. It was a fun filled day with prizes for the top three teams and two closest to the pin winners. There were several raffle winners and a 50/50. “This annual event was Once again a big success for the Jay Amvets Special Olympics Committee,” Co-Chairman Gary Desjardins said.
Special Thanks to Guilds Hardware, Jay Amvets Post No. 33, Castonguay Meats, Gene Weed, Golf Pro Rick Carlton, Maple Lane Golf Course and the participating golfers.
