CAPE ELIZABETH — The Poland Knights were bounced from the postseason by way of a 40-6 loss to Cape Elizabeth in the Class C South football quarterfinals Friday.

Jack Aceto opened the scoring with a 61-yard touchdown catch, and Peyton Weatherbie and Nat Jordan added touchdown runs to give the top-seeded Capers a 21-0 lead by the time the first quarter ended.

Cape Elizabeth (9-0) added two touchdowns in the second quarter, and a safety and a field goal in the third to take a 40-0 lead.

Tyler Tucci put eighth-seeded Poland on the board, running for a touchdown with 25 seconds left. The Knights finish the season with a 2-7 record.
