LEWISTON — Community members ranging from ages 7 to 60 made donations to the Greater Androscoggin County Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave.

These good Samaritans collected donations for pets in lieu of birthday gifts during their recent celebrations. They collected pet food, treats, toys, money and other supplies for the shelter. 

Leon Caron, 60, of Monmouth made a donation on Sept. 25. 

Anthony Prescott, 13, of New Gloucester made donations to the shelter on Oct. 16. Prescott is a seventh-grade student at Gray-New Gloucester Middle School.

Miles Post, 12, of Gray presented his donations on Oct. 29. Post is a sixth-grade student at Gray-New Gloucester Middle School.

Fiona Connolly, 7, of Poland made her donation on Oct. 30. She is a first-grader at Poland Primary School.

The donated items will help with the care of the thousands of unwanted animals the Humane Society helps each year.
