Ringing bells for veterans
Churches in Maine have been requested to ring their bells for two minutes at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, to remember veterans who have served the country and to pray for peace.
This is a project of the AMVETS Department of Maine, American Legion Post 22, American Legion District 3 Androscoggin County, Franco American War Veterans Post 31, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11 of Maine, L/A Maine Military Community Network and the L&A Veterans Council.
Swingin’ Bears to dance
PARIS — Swingin’ Bears Square Dance Club will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, in the Oxford Hills Middle School cafeteria at 100 Pine St.
Don Bachelder of Bernardston, Massachusetts, will call Mainstream and Plus levels and cuer Carol Arsenault will call round dancing.
There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and refreshments. Admission is $7 per person. Non-dancers are invited to attend to watch at no charge.

Crafting for GRAMPS craft day
MEXICO — Crafters will gather for a day of craft-making and help feed the hungry during Crafting for a Cause, a benefit for the Greater Rumford Area Ministers Pantry Service.
The craft day will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Mexico Town Hall. The fee is $10 for the day or 10 canned goods or assorted other non-perishable food items.
Crafters should bring their lunch, snacks and drinks.
All crafters are welcome.
