FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Regional School District music department’s upcoming winter concerts begin soon. The concerts will feature music students participating in the local schools’ bands, choruses and orchestras and are the opening performances of the 2016-2017 academic school year.
The Mt. Blue High School concert band and chorus will perform Thursday, Nov. 17, under the direction of Karen Beacham and Adrian St. Pierre. Patricia Hayden serves as concert accompanist. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Bjorn Auditorium on the Mt. Blue Campus.
The grades seven through 12 orchestra concert will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, in the Bjorn Auditorium under the direction of Steven Muise.
Academy Hill School students will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the school gym. Ensembles performing are the fourth- and fifth-grade orchestras, the fifth-grade concert band and the fifth-grade chorus. The concert will be directed by Lindsay Burke, Krista Lyman and Steven Muise and accompanied by Patricia Hayden.
Cascade Brook School students will be performing in the Bjorn Auditorium at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7. Ensembles performing are the fourth- and fifth-grade orchestras, the fifth-grade concert band and the fifth-grade chorus. The concert will be directed by Nancy Beacham, Krista Lyman and Adrian St. Pierre. Patricia Hayden will be assisting as accompanist.
The Cape Cod Hill School music students will present their concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, in the school gym. Ensembles performing are the fourth- and fifth-grade orchestras, the fifth-grade concert band and the fitth-grade chorus. Karen Beacham, Nancy Beacham, and Lindsay Burke will direct this performance, assisted by Patricia Hayden.
Concluding the concert season are two concerts presented by Mt. Blue Middle School, under the direction of Karen Beacham, Nancy Beacham, Lindsay Burke, Scott Dunbar, Krista Lyman, and Steven Muise. Lyman serves as concert accompanist. These concerts will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 14, in the Bjorn Auditorium. The grade six concert band, orchestra and chorus will perform at 6 p.m. The seventh- and eighth-grade concert band and chorus will perform at 7:30 p.m.
