1959 – 2016

NORWAY — Dennis G. Oberton Jr., 57, a resident of Livermore died suddenly Friday, Nov. 4, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, as a result of a heart attack.

He was born April 9, 1959, in Lewiston, the son of Dennis G. Oberton and Sandra Gallant. Dennis was a 1977 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. He worked as an apprentice in refrigeration in Massachusetts, and for the past 27 years as a refrigeration specialist for Hannaford Supermarkets in the New England area.

Dennis loved living life, he was an avid snowmobiler, motorcyclist, and deer and moose hunter. He also enjoyed traveling to Canada and the Rocky Mountains.

He is survived by his father, Dennis G. Oberton Sr. and his companion, Nicky Lee, of Livermore; his mother, Sandra Gallant of Florida; his son, John Oberton of Livermore; four grandchildren, Adam, Nickolas, and Aubree Oberton and Nathan Cote; his sisters, De De Oberton-Degone and her husband, Bob, of Chesterville; and Donna Oberton of Livermore; brothers, Kai Poesse of Lincoln, N.H., and Scott Poesse of Massachusetts; nieces, Jessie Poesse, and Jamie and Kelly St. Pierre; his aunts, Janice Gauthier and her husband, Richard, of Greene and Cheryl Bilodeau and her husband, Larry, of Jay.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, John “Pete” and Marjorie Oberton and Peggy Dillingham.
