1923 – 2016

WEST PARIS — Eva B. Poland, 93, of Route 232, Bethel, went home to be with her Savior on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Ledgeview Living Center, West Paris.

Eva was born in Woodstock, on Sept. 6, 1923, the daughter of the late Winfield and Vera (Farnum) Buck and had attended Woodstock schools.

She was employed at a number of places including Burnham & Morrell Radio Shop, Tom Ryans Shoe Store, Cornwall’s and Stowell’s Mills. She was a member of the Grace Bible Church of Bryant Pond.

Eva married Florus Edward Poland on April 3, 1942, who died Sept. 2, 1994. 

Eva is survived by daughters, Caroline Conant and husband, Douglas, of Belgrade, and Holly Breau of Rumford; a son, John Poland of Bethel; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Gay Sherwin of Rumford and Mrs. Yoshie “Judy” Buck of Browns Mills, N.J.; many grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; a grandson, Adam Richard; a great-grandson, Nathaniel Richard; a son-in-law, Reginald Breau; two sisters, Erma Lowe and Christina Tuttle; a brother, Hollis W. Buck; and a brother-in-law, Levi Sherwin.
