1935 – 2016

WATERBURY, Conn. — Gerard P. Laneuville, 81, of Shelton, Conn., entered into rest Sunday, Nov. 6, at St. Mary’s Hospital Vitas Unit in Waterbury.

He was the beloved husband of Glorianne (Bernard) Laneuville for 57 years. Gerard was born in Lewiston on Feb. 2, 1935, son of the late Henry and Beatrice (Ducasse) Laneuville, and lived in Shelton, Conn., for over 40 years.

He served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a retired millwright for Raybestos. Gerard enjoyed gardening at his home with friends and family. He was an avid woodsman and hunter. He was a longtime member of St. Margaret Mary Church and was a member of the Men’s League. He was also a proud member of the NRA.

He is the beloved father of Diane Laneuville, Michael Laneuville and his wife, Nancy, Sonia Bernacki, and Denice Sherwood and her fiance, Edward Pelaggi. He also leaves eight cherished grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brother, Roger Laneuville and his wife, Joline; and several nieces and nephews.

Gerard was predeceased by his grandson, Brian Laneuville; two brothers, Paul and Sylvio Laneuville; and his sister, Rita Kilbrith.
