AUBURN — A “give thanks” concert featuring pianist Phil House and vocalist Kathy Haley will kick off the holiday season at the Court Street Baptist Church in Auburn.

It will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at 129 Court St.

House and Haley have performed this annual concert for about 12 years. They have delighted audiences throughout central Maine with appearances at the Sawyer Memorial and the Poland Spring All Souls Chapel in their annual Summer Concert series.

House is the organist at the First Universalist Church in Auburn. He has performed in venues as far away as Nashville, Tennessee, and Vienna, Austria. Many CDs have recorded his piano and organ music. He is an administrator for the John F. Murphy Homes.

Haley is minister of music at Court Street Baptist Church and a piano accompanist for the Edward Little High School music program. She has been a church organist and pianist for many years. As a vocalist, she was a lead singer with the Top 40 dance band Good and Plenty.

Among the additional guest artists is Shawna Haley-Bear of Poland, who grew up singing Christian songs.

There will also be one or two other special surprise guest performers.

The concert is free, but donations to benefit next summer’s youth mission trip will be accepted.
