1958 – 2016
MILFORD, Mass. — Cheryl Marie Goldsmith died Tuesday, Nov. 1, in Milford, Mass. after a long courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was born Sept. 15, 1958 in Whitinsville, Mass., the daughter of Rene Grondin of Livermore and the late Joan (McClure) Grondin of Whitinsville. She received her education in Northbridge schools and worked as a certified nurse’s aide for more than 10 years. She loved animals, especially her dog, Dakota, who will be waiting for her on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Cheryl enjoyed gardening, walks in the woods, nature and was very proud of her Native American heritage and culture. Very much a caretaker, she loved being with and caring for her family and friends. She was a member of Valley Chapel Church.
She is survived by her father, Rene and his wife, Sandra, of Livermore; a son, Joshua Goldsmith and his wife, Heather Willsey, a granddaughter, Emily Goldsmith of Burrillville, RI, a daughter, Nichole Humphrey and her husband Kevan and grandson Mason of Phoenix, Arizona; five brothers, Dale Grondin of Jay, Wade and his wife, Crystal, of Whitinsville, Steven also of Whinsville, Noel of Sutton, MA and Ronald of Altoona, PA. A stepsister, Tammi Chandler of Auburn ME, stepbrothers Michael Campbell of St Louis, MO and Brandon Campbell of Lewiston, ME and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves two dear friends Debbie Mahoney and Donna Rose. She was predeceased by her husband James O. Goldsmith in 1978.
