1939 – 2016

LEWISTON — Lorraine A. Lavoie, 77, of Lewiston died Thursday, Nov. 17, at d’Youville Pavilion, after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb. 5, 1939, a daughter of the late Donat and Leona (Ouellette) Boucher. She was educated in local schools and married Everest Lavoie on Aug. 28, 1958. They spent more than 37 wonderful years together until he passed on April 25, 1995.

Lorraine worked for more than 35 years at Campus Cuisine, a job she loved and looked forward to working every day, through the years she had met many wonderful people and made many friends. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and attended Holy Family Church.

She enjoyed going shopping and going out to eat, she also loved spending time with her family. Her favorite saying was “Oh well” and her great sense of humor will be missed by all.

She leaves her two daughters, Theresa Faucher and her husband, John, of Lewiston and Linda Moody and her husband, Lawrence, of Smithfield; grandsons, TJ Lavoie and his wife, Pam, Nicholas and Drew Moody; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Nathan, Noah, Dylan, Evan, Emma and Autumn; her two “adopted children,” Gail Carlson and Kim Karkos; her dear friends, Debbie Buckmore , Liz Audet, Alice and Frank Soychak; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Daniel Lavoie; brothers, Robert Boucher and Larry Gilbert; sisters, Muriel Johnson and Vivian McCall.
