1935 – 2016

AUBURN — Marion Thorpe, 80, of Hebron passed away on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Mechanic Falls on Dec. 14, 1935, the daughter of Arthur and Addie Herrick Bonney. She married Harold Eugene Thorpe. Marion held various jobs over the years, including banking, variety stores, Pikes Clothing, Hebron Academy, the woolen mill in Lisbon and babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. She adored her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jim Thorpe and his significant other, Jewel, Gail Castonguay and her husband, Leon, Stephen Thorpe, Jo Neal and her husband, Kenny, Pat Wheeler and her husband, Wendall, and Jeffrey Thorpe and his wife, Barbara; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Charlotte and Gary Kane, Betty and Dan Bisbee, Juanita and Ernest McGray and Joseph Bonney; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; a brother, James Bonney; and a sister, Joan Bonney.
