AUBURN — Former Democratic U.S. Sen. George J. Mitchell will be the keynote speaker at the 11th annual College Day Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The event is sponsored by College for ME — Androscoggin. It celebrates post secondary aspirations and degree attainment through the presentation of three annual awards: Corporate Award, Advocate Award and Student Award.

Mitchell will discuss the importance of education to Maine’s future. He is the author of “A Path to Peace” and “The Negotiator.” He will sign both books after the event.

Cost is $25. Registration is required.
