Story hour at New Sharon library
NEW SHARON — The Jim Ditzler Memorial Library will hold a story hour from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays, Dec. 1, 15 and 29.
There will be stories, crafts and snacks.

Canton to hold Super Bowl bicentennial fundraiser
CANTON — The town will hold a fundraiser for its bicentennial, set for 2021.
The kickoff event is a Super Bowl Tailgate Party from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, at the Canton Caboose, the old train station in the center of town.
Food provided will include pulled pork nachos, beef skewers and mac and cheese bites.
There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle.
Tickets are $20 each. A limited number will be available beginning Dec. 1 at the Town Office.

Santa to visit Norway kids
NORWAY — Santa Claus will visit Norway children on Friday, Dec. 2, when Norway Parks & Recreation lights the Christmas tree.
The Fire Department Light Parade at 5:45 p.m. will lead Santa and Mrs. Claus down Beal Street and right onto Main Street to the Advertiser Democrat before turning left onto Pikes Hill Road and right on Water Street. The parade will end at Butters Park by the flag pole.
After the tree lighting, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be escorted back to the Norway Fire Station where they’ll visit with children. Refreshments will be provided by the Norway Firemen’s Relief Association.

Strut for Strays! 5K
FARMINGTON — Runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels — with or without their four-legged friends — will gather at Titcomb Mountain on Saturday, Dec. 3, for the 3rd Annual Strut for Strays! 5K Run & Dog Walk.
The event will begin at 8 a.m.
Registration is $20 and includes a free T-shirt. All proceeds will go to support the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
Participants who want to earn extra money for the shelter may collect additional sponsors for their run or walk.
After the run, all participants, including dogs, are welcome to join the Chester Greenwood Day Parade Walk, meeting at Mallett School at 10 a.m.

Otisfield Sewing and Craft Group
OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Sewing and Craft Group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at the Otisfield Community Hall. The group does not meet the third Wednesday of the month.
The club members put on the tea kettle and meet to work on individual and group projects and share ideas, skills, books and patterns. Projects members work on include knitting, crocheting, quilting, painting, fabric painting, card making from scraps, sewing table runners, making Christmas crafts and zentangle.

Coat Room to warm the Hills
OXFORD — The Coat Room will be open for the season from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays in Oxford Plaza Mall.
A program of RightStart in Norway, the Coat Room provides free coats to the community. Family members should come together for one coat, hat, pair of gloves and ski pants per person, based on availability. Applications for coats are not necessary.
Donations of coats of all sizes may be taken to the Coat Closet or to Norway Laundry on Paris Street in Norway.
