WEST PARIS — The First Universalist Church of West Paris has announced its December worship services. They are at 9 a.m. Sundays unless otherwise noted and are led by the Rev. Fayre Stephenson, guest speakers and the Worship Service Committee.

All are welcome to attend.

Dec. 4: “Bring Many Names,” led by Stephenson. In the midst of holiday busyness, people may wonder what happened to the deeper meaning of the season. At this service, attendees will explore Unitarian Universalist’s unique understandings of the divine and a source of comfort and joy.

Dec. 11: “The Power of Pausing,” led by guest speaker Pat Harris. She will offer a reflection that will consider the value of taking time in life to stop, pause and consider what makes a life worth living. She’s a third generation Unitarian Universalist who enthusiastically embraces lay ministry and has been practicing her passion for 28 years. She is a member of the UU Church of Brunswick.

Dec. 18: “Light One Candle,” led by Stephenson. This year, Christmas and the beginning of Chanukah coincide. This service will consider the sources of hope found in each of the traditional holidays.

Dec. 24: “Christmas Eve Candlelight Service,” 5 p.m. Saturday. This service will be a traditional service of readings and carols for the whole family. There will be special music, a choir and participants from the congregation.
