1929 – 2016

AUBURN — Julienne F. Bubier, 87, of Jay, passed over in the early-morning hours of Saturday, Nov. 26, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born Nov. 2, 1929, in Jay, the oldest of nine children, to Adelbert and Alice (Beaudette) Fortier. She received her education at St. Rose of Lima School. While employed at the Wilton Woolen Mill, she met the love of her life, Arthur Bubier, whom she married Sept. 3, 1948, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wilton. She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s where she was a religious education teacher, mostly teaching first communion classes.

In addition to being a homemaker, she was employed at Norwock Shoe Co., the food service department at UMF and the SAD 9 school system at Academy Hill and Cushing schools.

She and her husband, Arthur, who predeceased her Oct. 9, 2016, spent 11 years as snowbirds in St. Cloud, Fla. They enjoyed family times spent at their cottage on Wilson Lake in Wilton where she was also a member of the Friends of Wilson Lake. She was a member of the Extension Club and was an accomplished seamstress and crafter.

She is loved by her children, Brenda Robinson and her husband, Steven, of Rio Vista, Calif., Shirlene Ring and her husband, Robert, of The Villages, Fla., and Kathleen Pike and her husband, Joel, of Jay; nine grandchildren, Sarah Harris, Kristy (Ring) Hall and her husband, Matthew, Julie Harris-Wai and her husband, Conrad, Amanda (Ring) Milochik and her husband, Michael, Rachel Pike, Hallie Pike, Chandler Pike, Cecilia Pike and Samuel Pike; three great-grandchildren, Murphy Hall, Elijah Hall and Otis Harris-Wai; siblings, Constance Pinette of Lewiston, Roger Fortier Sr. and his wife, Lois, of Jay, Irene LaBranche and her husband, Donald, of Lewiston, Romeo Fortier and his wife, Annette, of Jay and St. Cloud, Fla., Florence Labrecque of Lewiston, Paul Fortier and his wife, Marlene, of East Livermore, and Rose Levasseur of Lewiston; aunt, Madeline Ducheney of Waukesha, Wis., formerly of Wilton; uncle, Laurent “Larry” Fortier of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Randall “Randy “ Bubier, who died in 1971; and a sister, Eloise Vachon.
