PARIS — The Novel Idea Book Club at the Paris Public Library will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, to discuss “Remember Me: Tomah Joseph’s Gift to Franklin Roosevelt” by Donald Soctomah and Jean Flahive.

Illustrations were done by Mary Beth Owens, who lives in Walpole.

“Remember Me” takes place at Franklin’s childhood and adult summer home on Campobello Island, New Brunswick. Tomah Joseph, Passamaquoddy elder and former chief, befriended and mentored 10-year-old Franklin, teaching him many things, including how to paddle a canoe. Their special friendship lasted into Roosevelt’s early adulthood, at which time Joseph, as an elderly man, went to “another place in the sky.”

Paris Public Library will make books available upon request for pre-reading. A snack related to the selection will be available.
