1963 – 2016

PORTLAND — Charles William Harlow, 53, of Oquossoc died Thursday, Nov. 24, at Maine Medical Center, Portland.

He was born in Rumford on March 7, 1963, and was the son of Henry and Nancy (McCollough) Harlow. He graduated from Amesbury High School, Amesbury, Mass., Class of 1981, where he was president of the student advisory council and participated in varsity football, baseball, basketball, track and cross country. He also attended the University of Maine in Orono and Farmington. Charles worked in the restaurant industry for many years as a chef. He was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius–St. John Church and enjoyed cooking and playing darts and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his parents, Henry and Nancy Harlow of Oquossoc and Pasadena, Texas; sister, Michele Ann Harlow Newman of East Greenwich, R.I.; nephew, Kyle Henry Newman and niece, Melodie Rose Newman of East Greenwich, R.I.; and niece, Rachel Brittany Harlow of Conroe, Texas; uncle, Charles Harlow and wife, Sylvia, of Portland; great-aunt, Etta Watson of Rumford;and many cousins.

He was predeceased by a brother, Darel Harlow.
