Hammond, Bouchard to lead service
PARIS — Marilyn Hammond and Sharon Bouchard will lead Sunday’s service at the First Universalist Church. The service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, on Pine Street.
Music will be under the direction of Donna Hurd. Coffee and fellowship will follow the service.
Childcare is available, and the church is handicapped-accessible.

Taize-style gatherings before Christmas
LEWISTON — Calvary United Methodist Church will offer short, meditative Taize-style gatherings in the sanctuary of the church at 59 Sabattus St.
Prayer, readings, and Taize (chant-type) singing will provide a peaceful respite from the busy holiday season for those who wish to drop in.
The gatherings will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 7 and Dec. 15.

‘His Name Is Jesus’ musical
JAY — “His Name Is Jesus,” a 30-minute musical celebrating the story of Christmas, will be presented by the Bean’s Corner Baptist Church Choir on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11, at the church.
The Saturday concert will be held at 7 p.m. and Sunday at the 10:30 a.m. service. Both are open to the public at no charge. Each program will also include congregational carol singing and a short message.
Arranged by Mosie Lister, the musical includes narration and familiar songs such as “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” and “O Holy Night.”

Community may dedicate church hymnals
WATERFORD — Individuals in the community may dedicate new hymnals at North Waterford and East Stoneham churches in honor or in memory of loved ones with a book plate with the loved one’s name.
The cost of the hymnals is $20 per book. Those wishing should provide the name of the loved one and send it with a check, payable to the Oxford County United Parish, to Milly Millett, Treasurer, 346 Bisbeetown Road, Waterford, ME 04088.
