1926 – 2016

BETHEL PARK, Pa. — Louis R. Malo, 89, of Upper St. Clair, Pa., died peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 30, at ManorCare of Bethel Park, Pa.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 19, 1926, to Maurice and Marie Anne Aubut Malo. Louis attended Holy Family grammar school and Lewiston High School. After graduation in 1944, he joined the Merchant Marines. From 1946 to 1948, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Rendova as an electronic technician’s mate third class. After earning a bachelor of science from UMaine-Orono, he worked as a television broadcast engineer for RCA for 30-plus years.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lina M. Lagasse; his daughters, Annemarie (Tom) Ciskanik of Virginia and Catherine Malo of Lewiston; grandchildren, Thomas, Michael and Lucy; sisters, Claudette (Paul) Jalbert and Diane Williams of Lewiston; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters, Jacqueline (who died in childhood) and Claire (Lucien) Lagace.
