1937 – 2016

AUBURN — Ernest Lee Card, 79, of Lisbon passed away at the Androscoggin Hospice House on Friday, Dec. 2.

Ernest was born in Bowdoin on May 9, 1937, a son of the late Edward and Mary Huston Card.

Ernest is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Ann Ouellette Card; his sons, Edward Card and wife, Pam, of Chesapeake, Va., Gilbert Card of Lisbon Falls, Roger Card and his wife, Terry, of Chesapeake, Va., Michael Alfred Card and fiancée, Janet Sleeper; a daughter, Tina Jean Urquidez; as well as a stepdaughter, Martha Kessler and husband, David. Ernest is also survived by his grandchildren, Jason Card, Joseph Friend, Matthew Card and Katrina Burgess; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cameron, Jacob, Madeline, Orion Card and McKayla Batista; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Buddy.

Ernest was predeceased by his brothers, Winston Card and John H. Card; a sister Ruth Carrier; an infant son, Stephen Card; and by his best friends, Ralph and June Littlefield.

Ernest means “truth” and Lee means “dweller by the woods, clearing or meadow” these perfectly describe and define Ernest Lee Card.

Ernest’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Androscoggin Hospice House for their care and compassion.
