1923 – 2016
AUBURN — George Edward Theberge, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 28.
He was born May 5, 1923, at Augusta General Hospital to Toussaint S. Theberge and Marie (Rodrique) Theberge.
George graduated from Cony High School in 1941. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy from October 1942 to January 1946 on the USS Wasp. He was a member of the American Legion Post 132 of Richmond and a member of The Elks Lodge 371 of Lewiston.
He married Ann E. Emery on Jan. 10, 1948, and was a loving and devoted husband for 51 years until her passing in April 1999.
George worked for Central Maine Power for 37 years until retiring in May 1985.
Everyone who knew him can attest to his genuine kind spirit and soul. He never once met a stranger and could bring a smile to anyone’s face with his quick wit and charm. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Reid; and grandchildren, Kimberlee Spurlin and Wesley Reid.
George was preceded in death by his brothers, Victor and Paul Theberge.
