LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced its December programming, which will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. unless otherise noted.

The Center will be closed Monday, Dec. 26 through Friday Dec. 30.

Christmas Cards: Wednesday, Dec. 7. Participants will make holiday cards for veterans who are in hospitals during the holiday season.

Peasant Pantry Café: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8. The Peasant Pantry Café features one-pot sustainable meals from different countries. This month, the dish will be French Canadian dish called Tourtiere, or meat pie. The meal is open to the public at no charge, but donations are welcome.

Self Esteem Discussion: Tuesday, Dec. 13. The topic will be being one’s own best friend, creating self esteem.

Painting: Wednesday, Dec. 14. Dot is back to teach us how to make beautiful watercolors. Supplies will be provided.

Winter Solstice quiet day: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17. The Center will hold quiet time for reflection, looking ahead and for those interested in spending time in quiet without verbal communication. A light lunch will be provided. 

Bingo: Tuesday, Dec. 20.

Art Van: Wednesday, Dec. 21.

December Birthday Celebration: Noon on Wednesday, Dec. 14. December birthdays will be celebrated.

Clothing giveaway: Thursday, Dec. 22. The center will hold a clothing give-away during a day-long event.

Christmas Party: Friday, Dec. 23. The Center will host a Christmas party for guests and volunteers. There will be brunch, games, gifts and the Secret Santa reveal for Sophia’s Circle volunteers.

All women are welcome; programs are offered free and no appointments are needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily and the center has a shower.
