There is little doubt the Blue Devils have the talent for a bounce back season. Their relative lack of varsity experience in the unforgiving KVAC could determine how big of a bounce it is.
“Guys will have to expand their games and their roles for this team to be successful,” Lewiston coach Tim Farrar said.
Luke Madore does a little bit of everything well for a big man, and Jackson’s energy and athleticism create excitement. Garrett Poussard and Jalen Allison, who will run the point, have most of the rest of the varsity stripes.
Their schedule before Christmas has Oxford Hills, Bangor, Windham, Portland and Deering, which will certainly introduce the young Devils to Class AA basketball. Farrar will be happy if they emerge from that stretch a better team, regardless of record. If they do, a return to the playoffs wouldn’t be out of the question.
