Brian Kelly, who coached at Jay High School, is the Cougars’ fourth coach in six years hoping to continue building the program. With 14 freshmen in the class, they are off to a good start. But they also have seven seniors they hope can lead them back to a tournament berth.

All-conference forward Zack Mittelstadt transferred to Gould Academy, so their more immediate needs include scoring and rebounding. Marshall Doyon and Cole Dorman should help pick up some of the shooting slack from the backcourt, while Cooper Hollingsworth can also score and have an impact on the boards. Makao Thompson, a Fitzpatrick Trophy semifinalist, brings toughness and athleticism.
