1936 – 2016
LEWISTON — Richard A. Moore, 80, of Lewiston died on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Woodlands Memory Care in Lewiston following a long illness with dementia.
He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 6, 1936, the son of the late James F. Sr. and Leona M. (Hildreth) Moore and had been a resident of this community all of his life.
He attended Lewiston schools and was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1954.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served during the Korean Conflict. He then entered the finance field working 25 years with Key Bank and 8 years with Androscoggin Savings Bank, retiring in 2004.
Richard enjoyed traveling, landscaping and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Yokell) Moore, whom she married on June 13, 1959, of Lewiston; one son, Matthew A. Moore and his wife, Bonnie L., of Lewiston; one daughter, Shanna M. Teets and her husband, Mark, of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Katelyn E. Moore, Brenda A. Moore, Isabella L. Seet and Eric Seet; two great-grandchildren, Jett and Nova Greenleaf; one sister, Jeanne Kinney and her husband, Milton, of Clearwater, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
