FARMINGTON — A former Carrabassett Valley official was sentenced Friday to 30 days in jail and a six-year license suspension for his third drunken-driving conviction in six years.

, 65, was also fined $1,480 and given a six-year registration suspension. He will begin his sentence Dec. 27.

A misdemeanor charge of operating beyond license condition or restriction was dismissed.

Pierce is undergoing substance abuse treatment. He said he has a plan in place and support from his family.

Pierce was arrested July 26 after a caller reported to Franklin County dispatchers that a green Toyota Tundra pickup truck was all over Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation, Assistant District Attorney Joshua Robbins said.

Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Steven Lowell found the truck on Route 4 in Rangeley and administered a sobriety test to Pierce. His blood alcohol registered 0.24 percent, an official said.

Pierce was convicted of operating under the influence following an arrest in Portland in 2011 while he was a selectman and a trustee of the Carrabassett Valley Sanitary District. He was convicted of drunken driving again in 2012 by a Farmington court.
