Mass, meeting for mill workers

JAY — In response to the anticipated layoff of nearly 200 workers at the Androscoggin Mill in the coming months, St. Rose of Lima Parish will hold a special Mass for employees of Verso Corporation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 1 Church St.

Following the Mass, employees are asked to stay for a meeting with parish representatives to determine how the parish can best respond to the present and future needs of the workers.

All are welcome to join the employees at the Mass.

‘Sunday after Christmas Service’

MINOT — The historic 1846 Minot Center Congregational Church, warmed by the old wood stoves, will hold the annual “Sunday after Christmas Candlelight Service” at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017.

Special music will be performed by soloist Wayne Bridgham accompanied by Constance Benwitz. Refreshments will be served after the service. Offerings help maintain the church.

All denominations may attend this service.
