AMVETS New Year’s Eve
JAY — AMVETS Post 33 will have music by Cowboy Billy and Malinda Liberty from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. New Year’s Eve, Saturday, Dec. 31, on Main Street.
There will not be a cover charge.

Mexico Library winter hours
MEXICO — Winter and spring hours for the Mexico Public Library will effect Jan. 3 to May 13, 2017.
The hours will be 2 to 7 p.m. Mondays; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays; 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The library will be closed Thursdays and Sundays.
The library hosts a children’s story craft hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and the Book Cafe, the adult reading group, at 5:45 p.m. on first Wednesday of the month.
The library will also be closed on the following dates to observe holidays: Jan. 2, Jan. 16 and Feb. 20.
Carrabassett Valley Library winter hours
CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Carrabassett Valley Public Library will change to its winter hours on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
The hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
This schedule will be in effect through April 15.

Knitting guild to meet
PARIS — Western Maine Knitting Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the First Congregational Church on East Main Street.
This is the annual planning meeting. Those attending should bring ideas for programs and interesting places to visit.
Coffee will be served.
If school is cancelled for weather conditions, the meeting will be canceled, and the guild will meet in February.
Those interested may join the group.
