1942 – 2016

HARRISON — Paul M. Szott went to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 26. He passed peacefully with his children and wife by his side.

Paul was born in Lewiston on Oct. 7, 1942, and grew up in West Auburn. He graduated from Edward Little High School in 1961 and married Elaine Tribou in 1962. They had four wonderful children which he was so proud of.

An avid outdoorsman, Paul loved the woods and hunting. He also loved keeping honey bees, from a young man chasing down his first colony of bees to pollinating local orchards. Paul was one of the original founders of the Maine State Beekeepers Organization and was also an active member of the Oxford Hills Bee Keepers Club. He was also a supporter of veterans’ programs and served as deacon of the East Auburn Baptist Church and was active in its Boys Brigade.

Paul leaves behind his wife, Elaine, of 54 years; four children, Lorna Dewitt and husband, Todd, Ronda Koskela and husband, Tim, Nathan Szott and wife, Sylvia, and Andrew Szott; two sisters, Pam White and husband, Gary, and Debbie Vigue and husband, Gary; 14 grandchildren, Aaron, Emily, Noah, Nicholas, Paul, Jessica, Kelly, T.J., Justin, Alyssa, Makayla, Ava, Alijah and Peregrine; and five great-grandchildren, Elias, Zoey, Luna, Oliver and Haeven.
