1917 – 2016
AUBURN — Rita Tardif, 99, a resident of Clover Manor Health Care in Auburn passed away Friday, Dec. 30.
Rita was born to the late Napoleon and Laura Dubois Paradis in St. Pierre Baptist, Quebec, Canada, on Dec. 6, 1917.
Rita was married to Adrien Pierre Tardif for 42 years before his untimely death on Oct. 24, 1984.
Their family comprised of seven children, Patricia Levasseur of Florida, Susan Hunter of Connecticut, Adrien Jr. and his wife, Sylvia, of Litchfield, Gerard and his wife, Pauline, of Sabattus, Raymond of Lewiston, Linda and her husband, Richard DiBuono, of Florida,and Micheal and his wife, Sonya, of West Paris.
Rita leaves behind 14 grandchildren , 22 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Rita has two sisters, Doris and Marie, who reside in Pompano Beach, Fla., where Rita made her home for many years before returning to Maine in 2008.
Rita had a very fulfilling life and was very active.
She also had one brother, Robert, who passed away in 2000.
As a young woman she was a professional acrobatic roller skater with the “Whirlwinds” traveling to many theaters and performing on Vaudeville. She also enjoyed traveling all over the world with family and friends. Some of her hobbies were sewing and crocheting and making some memorable things for her family.
