LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women announces its January programming. All programs are from 10-11:30 a.m. unless noted otherwise. The Center will be closed when Lewiston-Auburn schools are closed due to inclement weather.

The Center is closed Monday, Jan. 16, for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

ACE’s Resiliency workshop: Monday, Jan. 9. Continuation of December workshop’s around Adverse Childhood Experiences and adult resiliency.

Scrapbooking: Wednesday, Jan. 11. Attendees can bring a photo and learn how to scrapbook.

Peasant Pantry Café: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12. The café features one-pot sustainable meals from different countries. This month, the dish will recognize Hanukkah and be potato and parsnip latkes. The meal is open to the public at no charge and donations are welcome.

Women’s Healing Circle: Thursdays, Jan. 19 and 26. The Center will host Dr. Maryam Mermay as she leads a circle intended for women seeking to heal the loss of a loved one, a relationship, an ability, one’s home, the loss of one’s sense of self or any other source of grief through a life-giving and playful connection with the arts.

Self-esteem discussion: Tuesday, Jan. 24. Attendees can join a group and discuss being their own best friend, creating self-esteem.

Art Van: Wednesday, Jan. 25.

January birthday celebration: Noon on Wednesday, Jan. 25. January birthdays will be celebrated.

Clothing giveaway: Thursday, Jan. 26. The center will hold a clothing giveaway during a day-long event. 

Bingo: Tuesday, Jan. 31.

A full calendar of events and descriptions of support groups is available online. 

The center’s hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Fridays. All women are welcome; programs are free and appointments are not needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily and the center has a shower.
